Three Reminders As We Celebrate America's 250th Anniversary!
This July, our nation will celebrate its 250th birthday! Our founding fathers wrote the Declaration of Independence to instill religious freedom and Christian values as the foundation of our nation. As we look back at America’s Christian foundation, and look forward to our nation returning to God, let’s consider three key aspects to the rebirth of America.
- The miracles that made us.
In Genesis 26:18-22, we see Isaac re-digging the wells of his father Abraham, which the Philistines had stopped up. What Isaac did in the natural is what I believe God is calling us to as a Christian people. Let’s re-dig the spiritual wells of our founding fathers and get back to the Christian values and religious freedom that our nation was founded on.
2.The miracles still in our midst.
Hebrews 13:8 declares, “Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.” We see a move of God taking place on many of our college campuses.
Our young people have a hunger for God that is making news headlines! Recent research from the Barna Group, as of September 2025, shows a “historic reversal” where Gen Z and Millennials are now the most regular churchgoers, overtaking Gen X and Boomers. That should challenge and inspire us! Are you hungry for God? Do you sense a greater hunger in your own heart for more of God?
At CTVN, we’ve seen an increase in our viewership. We believe people are looking for hope and answers, and are turning to Christian television to find that answer in their own lives. To our partners, thank you for your prayers and partnership. We can’t do this without you. Every day, we are seeing souls come to Christ and people recommitting their lives to the Lord.
- A new birth of faith and freedom.
In Acts 2:17, Peter, on the day of Pentecost, quotes from the prophet Joel: “’In the last days, God says, I will pour out my Spirit on all people.’” Before the Lord returns, we are going to see an outpouring of the Holy Spirit and the greatest revival we’ve seen!
That’s why, like never before, God will be using the local church and Christian television to spread the good news of Jesus Christ! As our founder Norma Bixler said, “Everyone ought to know who Jesus is!”
Throughout July, we encourage you to keep our nation in prayer. The Lord says to us in 2 Chronicles 7:14, “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”
CELEBRATE, PRAY and INTERCEDE for our nation that we would turn back to God and see a mighty harvest of souls for Christ. Thank you, CTVN family! Happy 250th birthday, America!
